This is the Conti Trail Attack I removed after 10,299 miles. I'd use one of these tires again.
![]() But I also wanted to try something new. Last december I purchased a Heidenau K60 in the appropriate size -- 150/70-17 -- before they turned into unobtanium. Today it went on the bike. ![]() It will be interesting to see how this tire compares to the Trail Attack. As long as I was changing tires... the trailing edge of the knobs on this front TKC-80 are quite worn. At low speeds on pavement I can feel each knob as it hits the ground. I could probably get another 1000 miles. No matter.
![]() I thought I'd go with a front tire that matches the rear this go around. Yesterday I picked up a new front K60. It's on the bike, now. Here's a pic checking the balance. Note: the weights balance the wheel sans tire. No extra weights were needed. ![]() Full story at http://www.snafu.org/pics/r1200gs/2010/0904-front-tire/. This is the first time I've used these tires. Don't know what to expect. Last edited by marc; 01-Nov-2010 at 01:31 PM (771). Reason: images moved |

I just found this and it looks like they are changing the tread pattern on the scout. But to be sure it looks like we might have to wait at least until April.
