I have a car tire on my cruiser. yamaha midnight royal star. love it on that.
not worried about the speed rating the tire i picked was the nexen sb802
I dont go over 100 mph very often. The tire out performs any tire i ever had on the bike and will out last them by far.
I'm not a mellow rider and i do push the bikes.. you never could tell there is a car tire on in the twisties... push it into a turn as hard as you can.. I do and i'm still here..
there is an adapter that fits onto the bike that allows you to mount the car rim and tire..
not a cheap adapter but if your going to put the miles on it will save you $$ in the long run and you get MUCH better performance in every way..
I guess all those well paid designers at BMW are just wasting there time. Lets just put a 30yr old design tyre on a modern Motorcycle, and save a few bucks.
Good luck with it when you finaly park it upside down and the insurance assessor has a look at it.
