I am 2 weeks old on my new to me 2005 r1200 gs. I would of posted earlier but just having to much fun. I have come from Stromtrooper land and have "drank the poison" as they would say. Sold my wee and bought the gs. In my riding group, everybody straddles German bred engineering except me so what the heck. Actually have been lusting for along time for a bigger steed. I test road the Duc multistrada,wow! But not really off road worthy. Well maybe it is,but not for a couple of grand every time you crashed. Rode the S10 and triumph 800 tiger. Both fun bikes but still not there yet. Rode the GS and found what I was missing. Great handling,power up the kazoo,and a smile on my face when I pull into the garage. Only concern was a little high mileage,37000 +/- lucky for me the bike has a brand new servo unit and brake job so not to worry about that 2500.00 fix.
