Default New Server hardware

Hopefully you didn't notice that the forum (and the R1200GS.info Website) moved a few hours ago.

I used to own a couple of Linux servers co-located in a local ISP here in Spokane, WA, USA. However, their service sucked. A couple months ago, my UPS failed curing a lightining storm on Friday night of a 3-day weekend. It was 3 days before anyone at the IPS showed up so I could replace the UPS and get the server back online.

So now we're at GoDaddy, where the bandwidth is great, and reliability should be excellent. Maybe you'll even notice things are a bit faster after a day or two. Right now, we're in the process of moving about 20 Websites so the system is pretty heavily loaded. Should quiet down in a day or two.

We were offline for only about 1/2 hour during the transfer. However, depending upon your DNS server, it make have taken you longer before you got this IP address.

BTW -- I highly recommend (at least for your home computer) that you set your PRIMARY DNS server to be opendns.com. Google them -- they offer a great, free service that is not only fast and responsive, but protects you from lots of phishing sites.
