Question 2012 R1200GS ABS Traction control

Hi guys/Gals.

Just bought my first but guessing not my last Adventurer. 12 R1200GS.

First dirt road ride on Sunday.

I came up to an intersection on a fire trail and went to use the back brake to turn the bike for the intersection, and the abs kicked in even though I had turned it off.

Is that normal?

The back brake will not lock up ever or is there something else you can do.

Still riding Dirt Squirters and I use the back brake regularly on them. Do I need to learn other methods or is there something wrong with the ABS

Did you test the ABS prior to your use? Are the ABS lights flashing when it is turned off?
