Using GSA with lower suspension off road?

I'm looking for a replacement bike and found a couple '16's BUT they have lowered factory suspension. I am mostly concerned with ground clearance when riding off road and those darn rock gardens that always seem to come along. Anyone wish they had more clearance with a lowered when off road and forest service graded doesn't count as off road.

Unless you need the lowered suspension to hold the bike upright at standstill, don't get it if you intend to do some bumpy riding. I've bottomed out on my full suspension many times in rocky areas. Also, harder to re-sell.

i agree with the previous post.
i also have bottom'd down couple times with my regular suspension bike.
I now have a full size/tire to tire skid plate because of that.

lowered supsension GS is asking for trouble if you OFFROAD IT. if u plan to ride onroad only, or onroad + Mild fire roads only you might be okay!. just upgrade the skid plate.

X-man, thanks. It seems everyone I have talked to say the same regarding staying with standard. That said, so be it, I put a deposit down today on a '16 GSA with standard suspension. Heading to SoCal next week to ride it home.
