Suspension life off road

Can anybody help us answer this burning question?
We are planning our first big trip on our 2011 GSA, has done about 5000 miles in it's life.
The trip goes through Norway to Iceland, where we will be going into the interior roads as well. The bike will carry the two of us (weighing 150 kg together), plus about 50 kg of luggage.

We will ride on a few very rough roads and will come upon some wash boarding no doubt, any idea what effect this has on the suspension?
Is is a better idea to fit a custom suspension before we go or will the GSA be able to handle it with it's original?

Share your knowledge, will be much appreciated!

Shouldn't have any problem, your all-up weight (440 lbs) isn't excessive for the bike and because of the pillion and gear you'll be taking it fairly easy, the suspension wouldn't even be a concern for me.

Thanks! We were hoping to hear that. Would you recommend any spare parts to take? Not including puncture repair equipment, cable ties, spare nuts and bolts, wire and fluids.

Not for that bike, just make sure to take a good camera and enjoy your trip.

I would add that the tires are not the original rubber.
