Bland white GS

I recently bought a 2017 restyled R1200GS TE. Didn't want the more off road based blue Rallye or the shite brown Exclusive model so I had the choice of black or white. I hate black vehicles so went for white.

Can't get excited about the colour. White is bland.

Are there any transfers/decals available or should I go B&Q/Walmart and get a can of KTM orange gloss paint. I welcome any ideas how to brighten up my bike.

Hey Ho.

Talking To Spray or Respray That is the Question

Well I can't think of a better conversation starter than to paint it KTM orange, and have had the same thought for more than a couple projects myself, but please don't post here, they may ban you.

As for the white, I tend to agree that, at least on a bike, it tends to be a love it or hate it color and there isn't much you can do for it on the BMW given the small amount of surface area. That having been said, it is only a small amount of surface area on the beak and tank so I would I would pull it, sand it, and re-paint it.

Might I suggest, aside from the KTM orange, a deep red with large metallic flake, possibly a school color, urban digital camouflage similar to the KLR or something more retro ... maybe bright orange with a large 01 on the sides and rebel flag for the tank. Really once you start down the path to the dark path of respray forever will it dominate your mind.

BTW, if you go orange with the 01, send photos, I need a new wallpaper!

PS... Might I also suggest a google search for H-D paint jobs as a source of inspiration. I knew eventually H-D would be useful to a Beemer guy!

How about Kawasaki green?

I'm with you on the black bike thing. Black is the absence of color.

vinyl wrap sounds like an option though. I wouldn't rattle can it, if painting is desired. I'd go with a reputable paint shop, and now this...
a new shade of blue has been discovered, and it's pretty fine, I think.

it would be unique!

A friend removed the panels and sprayed them with Plasticoat.

I bought a 2017 light white GS and I like the color. Black valve guards look good on the white, IMO.

I came across a post on the GS Giants Facebook page this morning that showed a great looking GS with custom paintwork and even has matching seat trim. LINK

Colour is such a personal thing - so make it your own by choosing a look that suits you.

White? It wants to be wrapped. Except my white GS, it's white and likes it that way.

Copy and paste this into Google: photos of wrapped BMW GS motorcycles

You'll come back with a gazillion photos.

If available, would the large 'GS' petrol tank transfers from the 2017 Rallye look right on a white bike.
