Default 2005 R1200GS Seal leaking after repair?

I'm two weeks into GS ownership and it's been back with the dealer for most of that time. It went back with a leaking final drive and they called today to say the seal was changed but in the same sentence tell me it's still leaking? The suggestion was, technician overfilled the final drive but surely if that's the case and it's leaking again it will need another new seal? Anybody else been party to this lunacy?

There is a lot of chatter on the forums about this problem. Most owners
are aware of the potential for this type of problem. The actual cause
is hazy but a bunch of scenarios are yapped about. Some guys think it
is eventually heat build up that precipitates the actual seal failure.

Take a look at some of the rear drive replacement videos and it will
give you a idea of the interplay of the parts involved.

If your seller was aware of the problem he should have disclosed it to you.
