Changing brake lever.

I have to change the brake lever of my 08 GSA. It looks easy but there seems to be a knack to doing it. Any help muchlee appreciated.

Yes, it seems to be easy.
But after mounting the lever, you have to look for the right adjustment of the brake piston pusher and the brake light switch.
Wrong adjustment follows fatal malfunction of the brake system.
Right function will be controlled by BMW diagnostic system GT1

Hand brake or foot brake?

For the hand brake you remove the nut, put the screw out of the housing, then pull the lever assembly back. There is a rubber sleeve (item 4) that holds the lever to the piece with the rod. You've got to remove the sleeve to remove the lever. Watch out for the spring.

And all of that assumes that the '08 is the same as the earlier bikes.
