I'm glad I live in a place where I can ride year round without hardship. Today I rode, but on the R69S instead of the GS. It wasn't cold enough to need heated gear.

In fact, the GS has been somewhat neglected the last month or so. I've had to go so far as put the bike on a battery charger. That will change as the R69S needs a service so it won't be ridden much until that is done and it's been just cold enough in the garage that I don't want to go out and work on bikes.

I ride most all winter as long as the roads are dry. Had to run to the store this morning for provision for the family get together tonight. But, it was 32 deg. Expecting 2 to 4 in. of snow tonight
Merry Christmas

I feel your pain! Record December snow fall here in Minnesota. Thin ice and the weight of the snow = poor ice condition on the lakes. I do not think I will even bother to mount my studded tire on the Yamaha TT600N and ride on the ice, what is safe is rough and that that is smooth is dangerously thin.
I need to move south!

If it wasn't for ice and snow my poor GS would never be cleaned!

We ended up with 1/4" of new snow last night. Most of it went south of us. Getting up to 32 deg. maybe higher. Another Christmas dinner today then maybe a ride later.

Lots of rain and flooding for the past couple of weeks in So. Utah. That's not the reason I haven't been on my bike in the last month. Got a major infection from a minor surgery that I never want to re-live.

At least the flooding is gone.

Smile Riding in the snow is pure fun!

I was searching for some ideas for riding my bike in the winter and Google brought me to this forum.
So let me firstly say hello to all!

To introduce myself, you can have a look at a movie I made last weekend:

Have fun!

A white GS looks good in the snow.

Welcome to the forum.

It must be a good 30 years since I rode my old MZ250 in snow like that. I'm quietly amazed at how much traction you appear to have got from TKC80s, although I see the ASC light was blinking away to itself.

I'd be interested to see how the new Heidenau K60 Scout M+S cope with conditions like that.
