A friend told me that Power commander 5 with auto tune will fit on my 2008 R1200 GS
according to the website it has a different part number. Anybody know if this is true? Last edited by MrT; 05-Jan-2011 at 09:21 AM (639). |

It or a similar device is pretty much a necessity if you fit a full exhaust system sans cat' to an '08 onwards 1200. I had a full Remus system on my '04 and that was fine. However, even on my '07, it was noticeable that it was running leaner.
Subsequent iterations of the bike have had leaner fuel maps and I certainly wouldn't fit a full system to an '08 or later bike without, at the very least, having the AFR's checked on the dyno and most likely having a custom map made up. Hence the reason my current '09 bike is, as yet, only fitted with my Remus can and not the headers.

Difference on PC part number is mainly due to installed fuel map. As long as you are going to have autotune application on your bike, this difference will be automatically compansated. |

So I have bought and fitted a PC V with autotune.
I am having some problems. The autotune is activated but when I connect to my laptop and get the maps or tables there is no change in the tables. I started with zero maps and they are all still showing zero after a 120 km ride. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

Do recheck the configuration settings of Autotune though. There are options of activation delay time, engine temperature that might lead to Autotune not being active if set incorrectly. |
