Default Making Video of travels

Does anyone have experience with helmet cams? I tried recording destinations with my conventional camcorder and the video is jarring. I think it is because, without showing some traveling between destinations, the video doesn't hold together. Also, I think a helmet cam would show more of the experience of riding. Anyway, if someone has a camcorder they can recommend. I was looking at the POV camcorder because it is not HD (no crazy long upload times).

I've a 720p version of the ContourHD camera. If I do a halfway decent job I'll convert 2 hours of raw video into 5 minutes of boring video. Someday I might create something that isn't boring. Hasn't happened yet.

I've used the camera attached to the bike and attached to my helmet. I think helmet is better for my use. Sample videos here [smugmug].

For processing I convert to apple intermediate and edit in Final Cut Express, then convert back to H.264 for upload. I'd prefer better quality, but that would require a better (more expensive) camera (and software).

See "Winter Blues" about 19 threads previous in General Chatter, 11 Jan 2011,
posts 8 and 12.

There is a link to a video the poster took with a Go Pro Helmet cam
which was very impressive. The video is a winter ride in the snow.
The stabalization is pretty good. Amazon has them for about 350 USD.
They look a little large for helmet mount.
