Default Help with Purchase Decision

I am hoping for some feedback on the possible purchase of the following:

2009 R1200GS
Equipment 1 and Safety Package
19000 Kms
Dealer serviced mostly
Set of three hard cases
New Rear tire
Warranty until April 2012

Asking just over $13 000 (CDN)

I would love to hear some opinions on this purchase vs breaking the bank on a brand new one with the new DOHC. A new 2010 is over $20 OOO in Canada. New to BMW but not riding, and have always wanted for one.

Default No?

Wow. A week and not a single opinion? Did I do something to offend?

The thread has had 48 views. Guess no-one has an opinion one way or the other. Plus, there are very few of us who have experience with both old and new bikes. I can't comment on the new camhead version because I've never ridden one, much less owned one. I don't know if it's worth the extra money.

I'll fall back to my standard blurb: ride both and get the one that speaks to you loudest.

I never saw your post until right now...maybe software errors.

I have a 2009 and would get another in a heartbeat. On a scale of
one to ten, all perfect 10's. 19K is nothing. I prefer the 09 valve
set up. Heads up though...the battery charge system through the
diagnostic (under seat) port with the BMW charger works but takes a little getting used too.
A lot of guys go direct to battery with "pig tails".

I am not sure what your "safety package" consists of but for me ABS is
an absolute essential.

Welcome to the forum.

I'll just echo Pdxrmccgs and Multiplu. I really like my 09, 13Kcdn sounds very fair considering what it has.
