While I agree w/you that there's no need to go OEM for replacement brake pads, I'm curious as to this particular statement.
I've been putting EBC pads on my BMW bikes for several years - including my R12GS. Never had a single problem with them. I find them to give good, even feel with very little fade under normal conditions & their price is certainly attractive - currently about $35 a pair, depending on the application. Brakes are one thing I don't mess around with - I ride with my kid, so there's no way I'm fooling around with what makes me stop. --chiba |

I also bought a full set of pads from theh States. Early days, only done 1000k so far. Seem to work ok.
O E BMW parts seem to be disproportionately expensive. Actualy all things BMWseem that way. |

I remember having a Honda VFR750F in the 90s and a set of decals was 400DM in Germany. That probably is about 399 above their production value. I happily lived without them then and did not buy a Honda in Germany again - and I also told the dealer that this was one of my reasons. |

I have had two gs's and have used ebc a few times now, until being turned on to the Carbone Lorrain
I can tell you now the Carbone Lorraine grip way better! I shall see how long they last. EBC,especially the rear do not last long I have two riding mates that say the same |
