I just sold my DL1000 after 40K wonderful adventure riding miles including the "Dempster". The only bike on the last big ride that did not have mechanical issues was the GS...I am sold
Would really appreciate some input on the pros/cons of Std versus ADV. I've ridden the STD a bunch both solo and two-up...love it. I have not ridden the ADV, but the articles I've read imply "HUGE", which concerns me. Any input would be appreciated.gboise |

Yes the topic often comes up. Here is a Jan 2011 General Chatter
Archives discussion: 1193 GS v GSA. You can get to Archives by scrolling down to the bottom of this page. I wouldn't say "huge" but rather "big". ![]() Welcome to the forum. |

The rest is virtually the same except the stuff added on the GSA. There are a lot of discussions around it. The only thing I like better about the GSA is the fuel range. The rest - I like the after market options better and appreciate less bulk, therefore a GSA isn't for me. But you have to decide for yourself. |

I think if you've ridden a GS and you love it, then you should get one of those. In the long run, you're going to get used to whatever you get, so you may as well get something you're already familiar with.

This article seems to be a BMW press release regarding 2010
moto sales: http://bmwsuperbikes.com/forum/viewt...15638&p=105938 It says 18,768 GS sold to 8,803 GSA which I believe is close to the previous years sales ratio. So if it helps you out it looks like in 2010 anyway 2 out of 3 peeps were going for the GS. |
