This is my first post and new to GS's. I sold my sportbike and bought an '05 GS with 15k miles six months ago. This forum is a wealth of information and was spot on with oil seal leaking into the clutch unit, so I got that fixed. And so far it has addressed many "brake failure" lights, but mine problem is a little different and i haven't found a solution by searching the forum. There was one thread earlier but it didn't post the final solution.
My bike has the master caution on and the "brake failure" light flashing, but additionally it has the brake servo motor running continually when the key is on (It doesn't pass the BIT, it stays red and servo running). When I start the bike the servo stays on, so I don't ride it because I don't want to burn up the pump. Per this forum, I have checked (1) the hand guard (it is not touching the lever) (2) the clicky sound of the microswitches on both the front and rear levers and the brake light is not illuminated (3) I replaced worn brake pads front and rear (4) cleaned both ABS sensors front and rear (5) replaced the battery with a new one and (6) checked the brake fluid resevoirs. The only thing remaining that I know of is to use the GS911. Would reseting the fault cause the pump to turn off???? Any other suggestions?? Many thanks in advance.

I understand those are common problems, so that was the first two things I checked. The handguard is not obstructive. I hear the clicky noise on both brakes. The brake light is turned on and off by each, so I assume it is not a stuck microswitch. The pump continues to run when the key is on.
Will a GS911 detect EXACTLY what is faulty or does it just give a diagnosis of a general brake problem? Could a reset solve a stuck pump? I have no experience with the device, but think it is one of my only remaining options unless someone has any other suggestions.

Update: After checking my levers, microswitches, cleaning abs sensors, installing new battery, installing new brakes pads, checking servo filters and bleeding brakes, the servo still ran continuously. So....I put a GS911 on it and looked at the fault codes. As expected, there were abs faults.
HOWEVER...after a quick prayer, we "cleared the faults" and bingo the servo motor stopped running!!!! Now it only runs briefly during BIT and when I apply the brakes (as designed)!! Hallelujah!!! I have only been 60 miles so far, but it appears fixed. I suspect it was triggered by badly worn rear brake pads and once I replaced them, the fault stayed until "cleared" by a GS911. It appears the computer keeps the faults and symptoms until rectified AND the fault is cleared. Two step process. Thats my two cents.

Just for some piece of mind i had the same problem recently and finally worked out by changing the brake pads the system reset. I did wonder if the level in the ABS unit was low and replacing the pads "forced"the level to rise - thus resetting the faults..

Hello people , I have the same problem but in my case is caused by the microswitch wrong placed. I have some missing parts where the switch is fixed and I cant find that parts in the catalog. Would u tell me what parts should i have to keep the switch in place? I only have the screw. It becomes, how can I say...wigged?
