Default 12V accessory outlets' locations

The stock 12V plug is O.K. for Mom's vest, but I need one for my jacket preferably left side around my knee and or course one up by the controls for GPS, Radar, etc. Can I get some feedback as to location positioning that some old hands may have.

If you pull off the beak and look underneath, you'll see two outlined areas, one on each top of the plastic approximately 3 inches from the ends where they butt up against the fuel tank plastic. I drilled the left side and installed a Powerlet outlet and cap. Powerlet also sells a rubber boot which protects the wiring connections. Use a 15 amp fuse in line to the battery or power panel. I use this for my heated vest and charging accessories.

The "Beak" is the protruding plastic below the head lights. It forms a scoop for the oil cooler.

Did you install the outlets? Did the installation workout? (hard?) Did you use a normal 12V plugin, or buy a regular plugin? Thanks in advance.
