Default Have I got a servo?

Ok this will seem like a pretty dumb question. Just bought an immaculate 2007 R1200GS. with 15k kms. Well looked after and goes really well. My previous bike was an '85 R80RT which I got rid of a few weeks ago so the jump in performance of everything is massive.
The compliance plate (Australian) on the new bike says it was manufactured in 01/07. Now I know there were a few model changes between 06 and 07 - most notably dropping the servo from the brakes. I've found a whole pile of references on different web sites but it seems that changeover date can even vary by what part of the world you are talking about? (maybe something to do with Southern hemisphere model years?)
So I am trying to work out whether I have the servo ABS or the non-servo ABSII. May seem a dumb question but bear in mind these brakes are a gazillion times more powerful than my previous bike - so I dont really have a point of comparison......of course I could dismantle the whole gubbins and take off every panel and the fuel tank to see if there is a servo underneath...but that seems ridiculous and I'd probably scratch something.
Is there anything visible on the outside that would confirm whether my bike is with/without servo? It doesnt make any whining when braking if that helps?
Is it possible to tell from the VIN number which spec a bike was built with (ie before or after the change).
Ta
Al

No, you don't have servo on an '07 model year bike. That was a major model year difference between the '06 and '07 models. Model year has little to do with actual build dates.

Turn your ignition on. Lightly grab the front brake. Hear anything? If you had servo brakes you'd be hearing the loud whine of an electrical motor under load. It is NOT something you'd miss. Not even if wearing ear plugs.

The 10th digit of your VIN is the model year. 1-9 for 2001-2009. 2010 vehicles use the letter A.

Also you would see a warning decal near the gas cap telling you that your bike is equipped with servo brakes which don't work if the bike isn't running...
