I have the MachineArt on my '07. Looks good, should provide excellent protection and no, the bike doesn't run hotter in Houston's extreme heat.

I have tested the H-B bars several times on both dirt and street. They absorb energy by flexing a lot and bending a bit. That is a good thing, but it does mean you may get little half moon indents on your valve covers where tapped by the bars. When I get home after testing the bars I put them in a vice and use hammer and pry bar to get them close to original shape. Then I clean and touch up with spray paint. I don't even bother to worry about exact match color any more... they're just going to get scuffed up, again.

I had HB on my '08 GS, and they prove themselves well! I fell at on this rocky road wich had fairly big rocks and all they got was some scratches. The bars never bended and all they need is a paint job.Except for not being stainless they are a great product!
I still have them in the baby barn,I took them off before trading the '08 for an '09 GSA.I have both the engine and tank guard! I was gona put them up on ebay and kijiji but never got around to do it yet!
