Default helmet shopping..

Its time to upgrade my helmet and I've been looking around for awhile and have come across a few I like. Right now my top choice is the icon variant helmet. my question is how does this helmet do with wind noise going 60 or above? would you consider this really a winter helmet or summer or both? i have a seven zero seven now which works well for the summer but not to well in the winter when you get highway cruising in the cold. i looked at reviews for the icon variant and they looked good but thought I'd ask anyways see what people think. i also wear glasses and am wondering how it feels if it presses in to much after a long ride.

I ride a 06 r1200gs and do mostly road traveling with the occasional, hey a dirt road where does that go?

thanks again for the help..

I just did a trip from Indianapolis to Colorado and Utah and back again, over the course of 10 days with a couple of other guys. The guy on the R1150GS was wearing that Icon helmet. He was less than complimentary about it and said that the face shield doesn't lock closed so that whenever he turned his head it would flip open.

I have no such problems with either my Shoei Hornet or my Arai XD. My personal recommendation would be to try the Shoei and be prepared to spend more than the cost of the Icon.

I purchased a Schuberth C3 a few months ago and can not say enough
about it. Downside is price. For me it is just like the GS...gets better
every time I (ride) wear it. Made in Germany.

I opted for the bright yellow for safety against inattentive
drivers. Along that line try this video..I flunked.

Default I like my Shoei Multitec

I can go for hours without any pressure points. One problem I've noticed when wearing my dirt helment on the street is that the wind under the front shield really causes my head to want to lift and gives me neck strain. That beak just isn't made for wind at highway speeds.

Default Helmet

Plus 1 for not wearing dirt/dual helmet on the street have a arai when lifting head up at speed it is a uplifting experience not pleasant. Street rides are now with a Schubert C3 good fit love the tinted inner visor

I went with the Shark Evoline 2. Nice easy to use flip up. Inner tinted visor. It is a bit noisy but not sure how it compares to other helmets. I'm happy with it and would likely buy another one. But I can't afford to go out and buy new ones just to "test" them to find out.

Worth checking out the Nolan N103 as well in my opinion. Inner visor, reasonably quiet and space for the bluetooth. Invaluable for my round-Australia trip. Long straight roads vanished with a Zumo660, N103 and lots of Bob Dylan!!!

Default Scorpion EX0-1000

I have a Scorpion EXO-1000 and can't say enough great things about this helmet. Build quality is almost as good as Shoei/Arai.. pretty quiet.. Love the internal visor. and it fits me really well. Pricepoint is nice too. I've had it for several years now and so far, I love it. At first I thought the inflatable cheekpads were a dumb gimmick. I must say now that I like the fact that I have the option of inflating them a little and making the helmet a little more snug. when riding in cold weather, this seems to help keep my face warm.

I'd buy another in a heartbeat.
