Default Hello forum

First post. I am a long time motorcycle rider, and am dealing on a 2011, GS. It is a demo model, with abs, esa, grips, computer, spoked wheels. I have owned a 2004 ST-1300, currently own a 2007 DL-1000. With the help of forums like this, I was able to install an Audiovox vacuum cruise on the ST, worked great. And an electronic Rostra on the DL, that works great. I would like to install the Rostra unit on the new GS, but I can't find, a step by step install anywhere. There are bits and pieces here and there. But not enough where I feel comfortable intalling it. I really don't want a throttle lock, and the 1000+ cost of the McCruise is a little rich for me. Can anyone offer some ideas? I look forward to meeting a riding with fellow GS owners. Finally the bike I should have bought first!

Welcome to the forum. As far as I know there is not much info
on a Rostra installation on any of the GS forums. The Can-bus
system makes some of the electrical stuff pretty sporty. The
bike has no physical fuses rather "virtual" fuses which kind of
require a little thinking out side the box. These virtual fuses
are usually 5 amps so...draw is important. To get around that guys
pull power directly off the battery through a centek type fuse box
for HID lights, heated vests etc.

Sounds like a real interesting project. Get the GS you will love it.
There are wiring diagrams linked on the home page of this forum.
