Default I did it....

Hi all,
I picked up my new to me 2005 GS on Friday and promptly took it for a 300 mile cruise over the weekend. Everything went well and had a lot of fun. I do have a question. I noticed on start up and letting it go through it's diagnosics that after the red triangle, yellow triangle lights would go on and off, the red triangle would come back on with the battery pic on the screen and then go off. I know that this indicates the battery is not charging but it does go off shortly after it starts. The manual doesn't mention this being a typical start up diagnostic. Could this be loose wiring or the prelude to something bigger? I'm taking it into the dealer for some work to be done this week and was going to mention it to them as well but thought I'd get some input from hear as well......

I may have found the answer. In watching a youtube video on oil changes, the gentleman started up his GS and the display did the same thing. Assumption is this is normal.......

Kind of funny but my low mile 09 started showing the same thing intermitently.
No service or software changes for a couple of years. It just shows for a
second and then goes off...which is when I assumed the alternator starts
the charging sequence. New battery, always starts first or second crank and runs
like a Swiss watch. Old battery was fine I just am a two year change
it out battery person.

Rethink and repost...I may have initiated the warning by inadvertently
turning on my heated grips while stopped for gas ... which I only
realized after riding and feeling the grips start to get warm. The heated grips
button is not very idiot proof.
