Seat question and help, please.

I have a 2012 R1200 GSA when did BMW change seat design, and fit? I am looking for a seat pan to send off to be made into a custom seat, or exchange for another. Not sure how many years back I can go and still have a seat pan that will fit my bike. Any one know for sure? I would like to keep my original so I can ride the bike while a new custom seat is being made.

It's not so much a question of "when" as "did they" and fortunately, in this case, the answer is "no they didn't". Seats from '04, when the R1200GS was launched, onwards will fit everything up to current '12 GSes.

You can find lots of used seats on the various BMW blogs, I sent my seat to bill Mayer they received it on a Friday and back to me the following Wednesday fast service without bike for a week livable
