Default Aux port question?

Have a couple questions and I have gotten different answers from google and my local BMW dealer.
1.Can I run my tourmaster vest from the rear aux socket? It appears that the vest draws 4.5 amps. Shop says no, forums say yes? What say ye?

2. Can i tricle charge through the BMW aux port or is it better to just go straight to the battery.
Thanks

I understand the mixed answers. The port supplies approx 5 amps. Your vest takes approx 4.5 amps. If one is a little on the low side and the other is a little on the high side it won't work. Or it might. Depends upon your bike and your jacket.

If use use the BMW charger made for CAN-bus bikes or the newest Optimate charger you can charge through the accessory socket. No other charger will work.

A pigtail tied directly to the battery will solve both issues.
