Default Pre brake failure signs?

Hi all,
Back again with another question. Are there any signs of an imminent ABS failure? 2005 GS with 35k. I can hear the ABS brakes everytime they kick in. It makes this high pitched noise with front and rear brake application. Also, today I turned on the key, let it go through the set up, then hit the starter. Red triangle with the fast "brake failure" light. Shut it down, restarted the process and it came up ok. It did this one other time last month while taking on an overnight trip. It was colder that morning and the bike had a lot of dew on it. Road it to gas station. Breaks did feel a bit more mushy. Stopped at station, gassed up, restart, no lights came on. Wondering if I'm in the beginning stages of going to the non servo brakes and putting black tape over the blinking sign.....?

So far as I know there are no warning signs of "pre ABS failure". Actually the flashing brake failure triangle should come up [i]every[i] time you start the bike and stay on until you roll forward a few feet. The whizzing sound you hear is also normal when you apply either the front or rear brake. My advice...don't worry about it. Wear ear plugs for your long term good hearing as well as your enjoyment while riding the GS. They filter out all kinds of noises that may worry you.

Keep up your scheduled maintenance and enjoy the bike. Anything can break at any given time. Having said that, with 35,000 miles your GS is just broken in and has lots of good miles ahead. Enjoy

Jim

Thanks Jim. I do get the normal slow flashing brake light but this was the faster flashing sequence with the red triangle. I'll just enjoy it as you say. Soon she'll be going to sleep after the oil change.....
