In an interview in the Wednesday 16th November issue of Motorcycle News, Hendrick Von Kuenheim, BMW General Director said... "We have not noticed any drop in sales of the 1200 despite constant rumours of a new water-cooled model. Another important thing to make clear is the current air-cooled boxer engine has still got many years of life left in it. Of course, we are always looking into new engine technology but that is what any company like BMW must do. We are in such a strong position that it makes it hard to make changes to such a winning team. "
