Default Rear tire motion/neutral gear

Had the bike started up today while on the stand. Is it normal for the back tire to be in motion while the bike is in neutral? I could stop it with my hand but it felt like it had a small amount of torque (?) to it wanting to spin forward. Normal? Sorry for all the stupid questions......

Not stupid at all. Yes, that's normal. It depends a lot on how warm the gear oil is. After a ride the rear wheel probably won't turn on its own in neutral but when it's cold (the gear oil is thicker) the rear wheel will turn and can be easily stopped by hand.

Thanks Jim. It was cold before I rode it. Took it out to mix up the Stabil and then put her to bed.....I appreciate the input. It's been a good learning experience for me and the info here has been very helpful.
