Sackville and Lower Portland Loops

The weather conditions for today were the perfect day for riding, but it did get a little hot when parked weighting for the ferries.

Off I went to have a look at places for Wednesday’s rides. No good as they ended up with dirt roads. But I still had fun as I much rather be on dirt and there is more places of interest. Still the ride was going to be interesting as I had new tyres fitted and it changed the handling of the bike.

Up the GWH and out along Yarramundi Rd and around the back of Agnes Banks to North Richmond. Through Freemans Reach and Wilberforce and onto Sackville Rd where I turned off and went around Tazzana Rd (dirt, no go for a Wednesday) to the Sackville Ferry. I then took River Rd (where I found an interesting rock)



around to and crossed the Lower Portland Ferry. I turned right and went along Greens Rd (dirt) to the Mt Andrew Caravan park and came back. Had a look at the Wheelbarrow Ridge Rd (dirt. That’s for another day). Coming along West Portland Rd I turned onto Packer Rd and came out onto the Putty Rd. I then turned on Blaxlands Ridge Rd and went to North Richmond, where I had a look at Hanna Park (for a Wednesday stop).

Then the normal way home. Around the back of Agnes Banks, Yarramundi Rd and back down the GWH to Blaxland. A really nice round trip of 149km.
