BMBEN’s Adventure Rides
By: Franz G (BMBEN) 0427 830 712 Saturday 17th July, 2010 Destination: Molong, Canowindra Loop NSW with the Ulysses Orange Group Orange weather forecast, -2 to 9C and Sunny I awoke to find a really good frost and a temperature in side of 5C so I did not venture out side until I had to get the bike out ready to go. Whilst checking the weather channel at 9.30am it said Orange had warmed up to 2.5C. Its 10.50am and Iam off to Orange. Hopefully the time I will have time for lunch. Nice and pleasant riding with NO wind this time but cool. I got into Orange at 12.00 noon after taking some photos near Mt Canobolas of the fantastic views of where I have come from. (the photo does not do it justice) ![]() I filled with fuel and went around to the second hand building yard to get some prices on doors I have to replace and I had my lunch while I was looking around at all the interesting stuff. I then headed to the Robin Hood Hotel to meet with the Ulysses Orange Group and ended up being the third person there. It’s 1.10pm and we are off. 15 bikes had turned up and 6 would be coming for the ride. Mick B led the way with Ray R (just turned 80 years of age). It’s back along the Escort Way to Borenore where we turned right onto Borenore Road through Amaroo and the Mitchell Hwy into Molong. This was going to be interesting as there was no one in front of me and I had to watch behind for directions. Leaving Molong we took Peabody Road, which brought us back to the Escort Way. We turning right and heading through Cudal and just past Toogong we turned left onto Longs Corner Road and headed to Canowindra for a stop at the pub. This is where I left the group and headed for home. I decided to go and have a look at Blue Jacket Lookout , ![]() which is along the Mandurama Road and I pass it every time I come up here, then back through Canowindra and to home. I arrived back home at 3.35pm and travelled 226km. Franz Map Link http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=d&s...,1.234589&z=10
