BMBEN’s Adventure Rides
By: Franz G (BMBEN) 0427 830 712 Saturday 24th July, 2010 Destination: Canowindra, Orange, Parkes Loop NSW with the Ulysses Orange Group Weather forecast Orange 0°C to 11°C Mostly cloudy, Possible shower, Parkes 1°C to 16°C Mostly cloudy With cold days and frosts each morning. ![]() Saturday was surprised to awake to a morning without a frost but it’s still cool. I headed off at 10.30am to Canowindra and through Cargo to Orange were I filled with fuel and then to the Robin Hood Hotel to meet with the Ulysses Orange Group at 12.30pm with time to have my lunch before heading off for the ride or part there off. It’s 1.05pm and we are off. 9 bikes had turned up and 4 would be coming for the ride. Chris W led the way out along the Escort Way to Cudal. By this time the two riders that were in front of me had gone as I and one other rider behind me had got stuck behind a red P plater with no idea. We turned right and went to Manildra where we turned left and headed to Parkes. On the way I saw an Emu and a Echidna (both alive) beside the road. Finally we caught up with the others at a pub near Parkes railway station. They mentioned how a twit in a four wheel drive had overtaken them in the same lane at Parkes and I said that it had overtaken us at about 20km out of Manildra. I said my good buys for the ride and wandered over the road to take some photos of machinery on display in the railway yard. ![]() When I went back, they had not left and were waiting for me before they left. We went back along the Parkes/Eugowra Rd and I parted with them and headed for home. I arrived back home at 3.10pm and travelled 246km. A most enjoyable ride (a bit cool) as some of these road I have not been on before and can’t wait for the weather to start worming up Franz Map Link http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=d&s...2&ie=UTF8&z=10
