two old dogs on a great western tour
Left out June 18 with a riding buddy on our annual tour.Left Monroe,Louisiana for a western USA and Canada ride about. Camping all but 3 days of the 25 that we were on the road. I was riding a 2005 GS and friend riding a 2006 Wee Strom. We rode 13 states,2 provinces and 8500miles in 25 days. Would like to say this is the longest trip I have taken to date on the BMW and would not hesitate to double it. I only had servo brake alarm issues during the trip. I just learned to ignore the flashing light for a few minutes after going down the road and the fault would always go away. Brakes would then return to normal. I have in the past been concerned with the servo alarm coming on but when you have so far to travel and no way to investigate the issue, you or I just did what I had to do. I can say I have riden this bike 50000miles and have not had any issues with it. I, like the others used to worry about all the little what ifs but they do not seem to really be an issue.
