RAM Mount for the R1200GS

Seattle Dan sent in these photos and notes he made from a project to install a few RAM mounts on his 2005 BMW R1200GS without resorting to the often-used ugly and bulky U-bolt versions.

Left hand mirror complete.

Right hand mirror in stock condition.

Rubber sleeve removed.

Use 17mm wrench on top nut to remove mirror; Use 17mm wrench on bottom nut to mount stub.

Setup for drilling; removing only a small amount of metal.
(Note: I suggest drilling from the top side as the GRAB9 has a conic hole that centers the drill bit.)
