A custom seat for Steve Powers' bike by Rich's Custom Seats of Seattle, Washington, USA -- (206) 524-2274. Rich does really nice work, and you get to stand there and watch him do it -- he doesn't chase you out of the workshop like most places do.
Here's a link to a writeup I did (with photos) showing Rich himself making a custom seat for my FJR1300. Steve is quite tall (6'6"?) which explains why his seat looks a bit higher than stock.

Steve chose to have the passenger seat recovered as well. Rich generally uses very supple European leather and treats it with Lexol for weather protection. But you can have some other leather, or even vinyl if you wish.

Steve had Rich add a heating pad to the seat. I'll update this page sometime soon with another photo showing the switch location (for the heated seat).


The trick sidepanels below the rider's seat are from Touratech.

You can just see Steve's FastWay footpeg in the photo above. I have those pegs on my GS too and love 'em (in fact, I recommended them to Steve).
