R1200GS.info Photo Upload

R1200GS.info features a different photo every day. This facility exists for R1200GS owners to upload a photo file (for consideration as one of the photos-of-the-day) in a secure manner via their Web browsers. If you stumbled on this page inadvertantly, please go somewhere else -- it isn't for you.

There is a 1mb filesize limit, and the files must be JPEG (or JPG) images (not GIF, or PNG, or BMP, etc). Image size should be at least 500 pixels wide, or larger. Bigger is better, as it gives me more to work with (for cropping, color correction, etc.). Follow these steps:

  1. Pick the photo file you wish to upload by clicking the Browse button — That will invoke your operating systems "browse" facility so you can indentify the file you wish to upload.
  2. Enter a short caption for the photo (one line, please).
  3. Enter your email address (you'll be notified on the days when your photo appears on the top-level page at http://www.R1200GS.info/).
  4. Fill in the special-purpose upload ID and password. If you don't know what they are, email me (HMarc) and I'll send them to you. Note: this IS NOT the same as your login to the R1200GS forum.
  5. Finally, click the button labeled Upload Photo!

Note 1: Large files will take awhile, please be patient. Large is actually good, as it gives me plenty to work with in editing.

Note 2: You won't be able to see the file after you upload it, as it is stored in a write-only directory until I can review it, possibly crop and/or resize it, and then add it to the photo rotation.

Note 3: Your photo must pass my "suitability" and quality filters.

Note 4: If the photo you want to upload is simply a shot of your stock bike, it may not make the cut unless it is perfectly framed, lighted and focused. I'm more interested in great scenery or road shots (ideally with an R12GS in them somewhere), or otherwise "interesting" photos.

Note 5: Please don't upload photos you stole/copied from some other Website -- I don't want to infringe anyone's copyrights...
