I had a similar accident where I was passing on the right to turn wright and someone waved a car coming from the opposite way through a gap in traffic. The car stopped dead in front of me with nowhere to go, I jumped off the bike (going pretty slow) and ran past the front of the car as my bike T Boned it. I didn't fall down and the bike's forks got bent and fell over.

Absolutely! I believe the boxer engine and pannier combination saved my foot from getting crushed!
