Aerostich used to be the go to and I have one, but seems Klim Badlands is the go to now.
Not even close. Aero is the most versatile, easiest to get into and out of, and offers the best protection of any non leather dedicated track racing gear. Klim makes quality gear, for sure, but it isnít in the same league as Aero. I commute 50 miles each way, some highway, some NYC traffic, in a business suit, every day, rain or shine, except when there is ice on the major roads. I park, jump out of my suit and go to work. Iím dry in the rain and have loads of vents to keep me cool on the hottest of days. In winter, heated gear fits under the suit and has kept me toasty warm down to -4F. When itís time for fun, my Aero gives me ultimate freedom. The protection from a crash or the elements is great. I couldnít ask for more freedom of motion whether riding the twisties oron dirt trails. When I get where Iím going- a restaurant, a ball game, a friendís, shopping, wherever, I m out of the suit in 10 seconds. I lock it to the bike and am in whatever attire I felt was appropriate for where I am. No walking around in motorcycle gear pants in restaurants, particularly in the heat of summer. My suit has been touring with me all over the world. In the mountains, through deserts. Iíve been on rides that start at 95F, drop to the teens and go back into the 90s. Iím as comfortable as one could expect in any gear, regardless of brand or type.
I recently had a highway speed crash courtesy of a cager who rear ended me. My injuries were relatively minor thanks to my gear. The Aero took a beating, but for $300 and change, Aero fixed it like new. It was ready to ride weeks before I was.
Canít say enough good about my Aero.
I have several pieces of Klim gear, all pre Aero. I bought the Aero figuring it would be good for commuting, and I would wear my Klim or Rukka gear for everywhere else. A it has turned out,my Klim hasnít made it out of my closet since the Aero arrived and the Rukka Air sees minimal duty only on the hottest days and only when the only thing Iíll be doing is riding, stopping for gas and riding some more AND there is no chance of rain.
