2019 Klim Dakar Vs Badlands

Hi Guys

I know the Badlands is a tank and the Dakar has no armor unless ordered.

Several days ago I ordered a complete Dakar outfit with all the D3O armor.

I mostly ride in very Hot weather and as much as I want the Badlands it's just to heavy and hot for this time of the year hence the Dakar order.

So here is the question on the Klim Badlands can it be used in 95F weather at slow speeds?

93 degrees is the magic number.

Every jacket including mesh is warm at 95 degrees and the more air flow you have at the temperature the warmer you get.

I have a Kodiak and have had Badlands in the past. My personal comfort level with these jackets is around 85 degrees. Above that and I am getting uncomfortable.

I am a bit unclear on why you believe the Dakar would be any better in this regard.

BMAC

I have the Klim Induction Jacket for my street ride Klim tells me the Dakar will breath almost as good as it. Since I've had that jacket in 90 + WX thought I would give it a try.

Probably best for me to think of the Badlands as winter ride here in FL then??

For Florida I would consider the Badlands good for about 5 to 6 months. It flows air well when moving at speed but it gets hot pretty quick when not.

The Induction does very well. It will be interesting to see how valid their claim is after you have a chance to compare them.

Klim 2019 Dakar stuff showed below is what I learned.

Ordered Dakar Pants in the boot they look great the 36 was true to size and length was 32 and correct. But it never said you can't use the D30 Armor anywhere other then Revzilla. Called Klim and they didn't even know it. If you want the D30 you must order the over the Boot Dakar that has the webbing to hold the D30 for Hips and knees. Otherwise the quality was excellent with nice graphics.

The Jacket on me was a Large I am 6,1 and 200lbs it was spot on fit was great main zipper was a bit stiff the last 1 inch but after 20 tries it's getting better. Venting is very good but it can't match the induction Jacket but it's still a good 3 season jacket. It's got a nice long tail section and it's color suprised me it's not Black and Tan. More like a Mocha brown / Black and Tan the pants match this.

Dakar gloves very soft leather with excellent pading and 1 finger has a face shield wiper.
I usually wear a 10.5 but in Klim gloves I order a XL and fit is good. Colors all match and feel on controls is excellent.

D3O I installed the armor in the Jacket and the fit everywhere was very good it will stay in place.
I didn't weight the Dakar jacket but my guess is the Badlands is over double the weight.
