GSA service cost?

What's everyone been paying for the break in service? I remember it being outrages for my Harley. Hoping that's not the case for the GSA. Anyone had it done that owns a 2018? I know they had a TFT update that takes quite a while to do.

GSA service cost?

Mine was $250. But I got it thrown in at purchase date. Just oil change and final drive oil. No TFT update. But have heard it take the 2 hrs to do that.

o you just told them to include it? I will have to remember that when I get closer to buying. That's good info.

Yes, out of 3 dealerships, only the 1 would do it. But in the end....I probably paid for it anyways in all the paperwork/fees. Lol

Not here to say that BMW dealer service is a bargain but initial service on a new bike is more than an oil change and final drive lubricant. It offers BMW the opportunity to go over the machine both mechanically and electronically to insure the initial build was correct, nothing is falling off and engine parameters are sound. 1% of the purchase price for peace of mind is a sound deal, in my book.

First service on my GS was $230 in PA. First Service on my Harley was $500. Still have the Road Glide, but do all my own preventive maintenance now. And the BMW dealership didn't make me feel like they were doing me a favor.

I have a road glide too. I think my first service was like $1,000 or close to it. I'm not kidding. I live in Daytona Beach, FL. I wouldn't have a problem paying $250 for that service and inspection. the bike is $24K plus the GPS and the panures then TTL and whatnot I'm looking at close to $30K. They are going to give me $9K for my 09 Road Glide and I think the total with everything was $19K and some change out the door.

Some dealers go by the recommended service flat rate for that service...while others go by an hourly rate no matter how long it takes...one should ask the dealer how they will charge for that service.

There is nothing magical bout the 600 miles service, they change the oil and filter and the FD gear lube.
Other than that the fluid levels are checked as are safety switched and lights, it is actually the easiest to perform of all scheduled maintenance and contrary to popular belief not having it done by the dealer does not void your warranty on the bike, but as with any maintenance be sure to document it if you do it yourself.
With that said my selling dealer threw it in for free but they normally charge $260.

Correct, its not like they check the torque on the cylinder / head bolts. They may plug it into the computer, but I dont think they actually do any diagnose thing with it. If they say they do, Id like to be there to watch the results.
