TFT update

Strangest thing happened. Brought my 18 GS Rallye to dealer for first update since I bought it in October 2017 and they said they didn’t update it (4 hours later). They said it didn’t need and they couldn’t update. Anyone know how I can verify this statement ? It’s a reliable servicing dealer.

When you press the keyless button to activate the screen does it say ABS Pro on the bottom slightly right side?

Also if you go into setting you can read the software version installed it's the far right 2nd from last screen if I recall.

The update might have failed which happens if it's interrupted during the update.

To check it scroll down to "my vehicle"
move scroll wheel right to "settings"
scroll down to "information"
move right once then down to software
Mine is 001 018 040

the newest is 01 019 180 and I've heard it takes almost 3 hours to complete.

Is this something( current version) that is checked during the 600 mile run in? Then if not the latest version is the download completed even though it takes 3 hours? I assume this is covered under the warranty.

I haven't installed the chip under my seat. Isn't ABS Pro what you get when you do that? Or is it a feature of the latest software?

They will only download it if you have a problem. If your not having a problem leave it alone. If you are having a problem tell them what it is and if a new download will fix it it will be covered under the warinty. As a IBM technician we always waited on downloading new firmware into our customers machines until any bugs were found by other customers and fixed. Sometimes it's like throwing a rock into a pond. You can't account for all the ripples.

No ABS pro with the chip plugged in? Yours is way down-level. It should be updated.

Sorry. I didn't see the other post. I think you need the chip but you should go talk to your dealer about it and the code update.
