Oil Fill Cap?

Is it worth getting one of those fancy aftermarket billet oil fill locking caps? I mean do people really dump crap into our motors?

I guess it depends where you park the bike. For me personally, no. I road my HD all over North America and never gave the gas cap or the oil filler cap a second thought.

In 50+ years of riding I've never had anyone mess with my oil. Many of those years were on bikes without locking gas caps. No one ever dumped a foreign substance in my gas, either. The worse that ever happened was in the early '90s when someone stole gas by disconnection the fuel line to a carb on my R80RT. The bastard even drained my reserve.

On the hijinks side of things a fellow rider used to carry a squirt bottle filled with used motor oil. He'd use it to mark some spots under brand new bikes. He'd then point out the spots to the new owner while feigning great worry.

You alredy need a fancy tool to get the new ones open. The screwdriver handle under the seat is shaped to fit.
