Pre wired GPS cradle

I have a 2018 GSA with a OEM installed GPS wiring / cradle. A shop modified the cradle to accept another Garmin. I would like to get back to the original setup.

Question is how difficult is it to uninstall the modified wiring and cradle and replace it with a new OEM harness and cradle ??

Trying to get and idea of the ease or not so easy job before I tear apart the bike.

TIA

It not that difficult. Just follow the current cradle wiring to the battery and replace it with the new cradle wiring.

Normally the cradle is not 'hard wired' to the bike. On a GS there should be a plug somewhere under the headlight.

Your best bet would be to follow the wiring from the modified cradle to the point where it plugs on the bike harness, that will (probably) be the point where the stock cradle plug will go.

i took my cradle off to mount a Zumo
then i put it back on when i bought a Nav 6

the OEM harness connects on the right hand side level with the headlight
harness has 2 connectors, but i only connected the larger one, then taped off the smaller one
not sure what the 2nd conn is for but it all works

modified for Zumo and i went to the battery, but OEM dosent do this

Pics of the Garmin harness

So here is the Garmin harness that I’m hoping is a plug and play swap for the “modified” one currently on the new bike.
