Lightbulb Pairing BMW TFT, BMW Navigator VI, BT Helmet Headset and Cell Phone...

I'm the owner of a new BMW 2018 R1200GS with a TFT display. After several failed attempts at pairing my Cardo PACKTALK Bold JBL helmet headset, BMW Navigator VI, BMW TFT Connectivity display and iPhone 7...and after watching multiple YouTube videos that didn't solve the problem...I finally found THIS video. BMW owes this gent a debt of gratitude for explaining IN GREAT DETAIL how the BMW Connectivity system operates...and how to pair all of your devices successfully.

As a new member here I'm prohibited from posting a specific URL. However as a workaround, please do a YouTube search for "BMW Motorcycle TFT with Nav VI and Headset setup and use" posted by Health4ADV and you'll find the aforementioned post.

Ride Safe,
Jim

I utilized that Video to setup my 1200GSA and my Cardo Pactalk as well but changed a few things.

The thing to remember is with the TFT screen you basically have 2 phone sources and Media.

My preference since I own several BMW motorcycles is to allow the NAV VI to be the command center. The secret is not to couple the Packtalk directly to the phone just to the NAV and the TFT.

I did that with my '17 Rallye + Nav VI + Schuberth Comm system, and there were real problems when I connected my iPhone: The music (iPhone source) would frequently cut out and get lost and not be reconnectable while riding, so I read in an ADVRider post that the Nav VI was struggling with 2 BT devices, so the preferred method is to sync the iPhone to the helmet, and the Nav VI to the helmet -- this works well, no dropped/stumbling connections.

Jim, I agree with you BMW should give this guy some loot. Saw the same video last week it was exhausting. I am new here as well and have same dilemma. I have the '18 r1200GS, how do I do this with either my Cardo G9x or my Cardo Q3? Seems stupid after spending so much money with these that I'd have to get rid of them and get a new unit x 3 since there are 3 of us. Anyone have experience with these. Jim, not trying to steal your question but thought I could jump in here with product from the same maker at least. Any help would much appreciated. Thanks for helping this GS chick out guys.
