Welcome to the forum.
First of all, forget about the CAN-bus. In spite of the fact that it is blamed for everything and anything it is only a bunch of wires that the various controllers use to talk to each other. Nothing that you directly interact with -- switches, levers, lights, etc. -- have anything to do with the CAN-bus.
If the other blinkers are working your handlebar switch is fine. That leaves the ZFE (central chassis controller) which actually blinks the lights, the wiring to the troublesome blinker, or the mechanical connection.
I'd start by looking at the mechanical connection, making sure that you're getting a good mechanical contact to the bulb. Then I'd get out a multi-meter and see if voltage is being applied to the socket. If not I'd start tracing the wires back from the socket, looking for a place where they may be open or shorted.
But my bike is not under warranty. An '09 is, no? In your case I'd take the bike to the dealer and say "fix!".
