Deceleration Pops, Coughs and Gurgles

When backing off throttle, does your bike sound like a carbed bike jetted way too lean? Pops, Coughs and Gurgles?

This is on a '17 GSA. Sounds like the ECU needs a flash with more fueling, it that available from the dealer?

I have a 2015 r1200 gs, most of the time when in 1st gear and "engine braking", I do get the popping sound, not sure about the gurgling though. comes with the territory I guess. at least the neighborhood is not hearing a Harley!

I'm not sure that anyone's found a definitive way of stopping the decel pop, some GS's are worse than others for no apparent reason. I think that there are aftermarket exhaust that may help but I couldn't stand the added noise of that.
One thing I know for sure is that the dealers are unable to remap the bike or do anything to help short of applying software updates which you should have done if not already.

It sounds like they leaned it out for whatever reason, but I assume to meet emission tests. Hopefully no VW engineers worked on this part of the BMW program!

Jetspeed - If you put the aftermarket exhaust on the bikes at the dealer, do they then add an "update" to change the fueling map? Usually, with other makes, if a new silencer is added that further leans out the FI, the dealer will have a new map to go along with the change......
