I don't understand why the SMH5 doesn't work. I would call SENA and ask. https://www.sena.com/company/contact-us

Officials SENA response to BMW TFT

Hello Damian,

I informed our management and this is what I got from them" Sena has not performed connectivity with the BMW TFT to know if there is a known issue. Our advice is to contact BMW to see if they can recommend a Bluetooth headset for the TFT. BMW's Bluetooth system is noted to having proprietary implementation on their Bluetooth protocols, or are sometimes non compliant to older Bluetooth versions. And the SMH5 is an older model."
Thank you,

Jake

The Sena 30k mesh had some quirks when using mesh with other 30k units and a TFT in the mix, you had to start music playing to get the Sena mesh to work, the Cardo just works. The Sena 30k also seemed finicky with the initial connection to TFT and would usually require waiting till the phone had connected to the TFT and then forcing connection to the Sena via the settings-connections menu to make sure things were stable. With the Cardo packtalk I can just turn on the headset after the phone connects (seems to be the best way regardless of headset being used) to the TFT and it connects to the TFT without any further interaction which is nice and DMC works right from bootup with the Cardo packtalk, no need to start music to make it work. Media control & phone call control all work as expected.

I set the TFT as mobile phone 1 with the packtalk and my actual phone as phone 2 with the headset. This lets you use the app to control settings on the packtalk as desired.

I have the phone paired directly to the TFT, the packtalk paired directly to the TFT as rider 1 headset. I have not tried pairing a headset to rider 2 of the TFT.

Big thanks to Cardo for getting this update out & getting all the functionality working with the new TFT!
Hi
Posted issues being faced with connections in other threads while I was using Cardo SRC Pro in my Schubert E1 after the TFT was updated to 001_018_040.
Today after a while I tried connecting my Cardo Scala Packtalk installed in my LS2 helmet updated to 4.2 with the TFT. All previous connections were erased on my Android 1+6 phone and the TFT. Connected the TFT with phone first followed by TFT with Scala Packtalk. After successfully connecting them, made and received calls which were loud and clear but music couldn't be heard in my helmet. Find screenshots. On the phone the music file can be seen playing but on TFT only song name can be seen and no sound coming out from the helmet speakers. I restarted the phone, TFT and Packtalk but same thing. Deleted all connections and paired them again but issue still persists. I am guess after reading the posts that it's a Cardo hitch! If budget allows will buy a Sena later this year but for now connected Scala directly with phone which is mounted on the handlebars and it's working fine

Anyone with Sena issues know if this TFT version helps?
SW Version is now 001_019_180.
Long shot & not very optimistic, but still curious.

Great news!!!

This latest version fixed my Bluetooth 3 issues. Phone call audio now works with my Nexx X.Com. I am super happy. This would be a must have update if you have one of these SENA products (by my estimate):
SMH10, SMH10R, SPH10H-FM, SMH5, SMH5-FM, 3S, SMH3.
And also Nexx X.Com and maybe some Cardo devices too?
AdventureDoc likes this.
