Went on a group road ride today with about 20 other riders. One of the BMW riders had to pull over to the side of the road and wait for a wrecker after a rock flew through his radiator on a pristine 2-lane blacktop. I guess it can happen anywhere.
This is great! Can they be moded to make them work on the 2018 GSA? Or did I miss that somewhere.
“Semper Fidelis” (Always Faithful) is the motto of the Corps. That Marines have lived up to this motto is proved by the fact that there has never been a mutiny, or even the thought of one, among U.S. Marines.
While searching for radiator guards for my 2018 GSA I decided to retrofit the inexpensive ($40) and super light weight OEM radiator guards from the GS Rallye. It was easier than I thought and required no mods to the bike. All you have to do is cut off the top and bottom tabs (I used a hacksaw blade) and trim the inside border of each guard to allow it to sit flush with the radiator shroud. The "All Cuts" photo shows the location of all of the required cuts from the right side guard compared to the uncut left side guard and the "Tab Cuts" photo shows the right side shroud and guard (seen from the back) mated together after the inside border tabs were trimmed (see arrows).
