I have silver spoke wheel rims on my 2013 GSW and I paint the wheel weights dull aluminum before attaching them.

Yes I'm not a fan of the gold rims.
To me they are too much old school.
I owned a few old Honda's including a 1989 Spada 250 I recently restored which had gold wheels and I couldn't wait to powder cote them black.

Color is one of those subjective personal things. Got a guy around here painted his house Grape Purple and he loves it...yeech. I looked at the gold wheels on a Blue Rally and though it was stunning but myself, I'd prefer the black rims on the black bike...clean machine.

Who here hasn't spent time lovingly gazing at their GS/A at rest in the garage and if the wheels aren't part of the dream, off with them! I agree that a dealer swap is the best course of action and will probably happen if they see your checkbook headed for the door, if not before.....

I saw the new R 1250 GSA exclusive at Max BMW with the gold spoked rims,
Looks ok but black would be better on that bike.
But I like the gold spoked rims,
I want a set for my GSA Rallye!

I was at the dealer yesterday picking up a few maintenance supplies. Saw the gold wheels on a new R1250. Just about gagged. Fugly!

And nobody has updated this thread with what actually came on them. The only GSs that actually come with gold wheels is the white/blue version. I can't remember what the call that version offhand.

Options if you prefer static balance = clamp/crimp on spoke weights or wrap 95/5 solder around the spokes.

I hate the look of wheel weights and opt for CounterAct balance beads.
