New 1250GS, but spoked wheels must be GOLD!

I presume this forum is going to include the new R1250GS?? Hope not going to start a new website for just the 1250.

I just put in the order for the new model (not having a 1200GS at present but owning a Suzuki 1250 FA and GSXR 750... sorry ).

I've ordered the Exclusive R1250GS model which is basically black and asked for spoked wheels rather than the alloys (costing me an extra £400 for the privilage). However got an email from BMW who are now telling me that the only spoked wheels they will provide are in GOLD!!! WTF. Even the picture in their add has an Exclusive with spoked black rimmed wheels. Gold will look absolutely stupid on a black bike. I'm keen to have spoked wheels so now considering not going ahead with the purchase as I expect I'd have to buy them later
I've attached photos from the BMW website, showing Exclusive with and without spokes. As you can see the Exclusive and both the TE have a model with black wheels with spokes so I think there is a supply issue with wheels, but I don't know why when I presume they are the same as the 1200.
I've only just got the email so will visit BMW tomorrow What do you guys think?

If that is the case and gold spoke wheels are the only choice you'll have people lining to swap you out for their black wheels, the dealer will probably be happy to oblige you as well.

The only problem I see is finding gold colored wheel weights.

Easiest way to get gold (or any color) wheel weights is to hit them with spray paint before taping them in place.

I'm assuming this is a joke... I can't imagine anyone actually caring that the color of the wheel weights match or not... If they do, they need to spend more time riding and less time worrying what their bike looks like... at least down to this detail....

Last time I looked down whilst riding, I couldn't for the life of me tell what color my wheels were. If I wanted a 1250 Shi(f)thead bad enough to bite that bullet ($$$), I wouldn't care if the wheels were dog-turd brown. I have a (pretty sporty) Harley and even I'm not that vain... The black and gold isn't that bad, the OP just needs to strengthen up his pimp-hand...

I was referring to wheels not weights

Black and gold don't work?? Someone should tell the guy painting the John Player Specials that. I'd play right into it.

My thoughts exactly. Black and Gold actually go well together...
