Removing Battery

Is anyone aware of pictures or video's for removing the battery of the GSW. The small Riders manual or Haynes Service & Repair manual does not provide detailed pictures?

Remove rubber retaining strap. Lift the front bracket up and rotate it back. Remove the ground wire. Slide battery out of pocket. Disconnect positive lead. Pictures here ==> https://www.snafu.org/pics/r1200gsw/2018/1005-42k/

And careful not to lose those forsaken rubber gromets (some glue them, others cable tie them)

Thanks AYEP! I've already lost the gromet taking the cover off, but the pictures and instructions you provided are great. It was a little embarrassing to ask how to remove a battery. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

No worries, but the pics and link were provided by Marc who's clearly done a great job at detailing the process (I presume this is your website?). I'll have to have a more thorough browse through the snafu site and see what else there is to feed my curiosity.

I was lucky not to lose a grommet during battery replacement but a careful read of the forum shows that it's a recurring problem.

Good luck
